150th Anniversary
4th of July $2 Bill

Enhanced in Brilliant Full Color for just 19.95!
Our Fourth of July holiday is a day of celebration marked by patriotism
and national pride. But did you know that the Fourth of July wasn’t even
a national holiday until 1870? In the years following the declaration,
all sorts of celebrations ensued – dinners were held, gun salutes were
fired, music and even prayer events were organized.

In 1778, George Washington ordered a double ration of rum for his men and an artillery salute to recognize the date, while in Paris, Ambassadors John Adams and Benjamin Franklin held a special dinner for their fellow Americans abroad.. But it wasn’t until 1870 that all Americans were able to celebrate our American Birthday, when July 4 was declared a national holiday.
Special Anniversary Release
To mark this special 150th Anniversary, NCM has taken a U.S. legal tender $2 bill and enhanced it with a full-color vignette honoring our Fourth of July. On one side, we see the traditional fireworks exploding over Independence Hall in Philadelphia, the place where the Declaration of Independence was adopted. On the other side is the Liberty Bell before a waving American flag.
